Half Marathons

Outdoor cross-country running in early sunrise concept for exercising, fitness and healthy lifestyle

The half marathon is rapidly becoming my favourite distance. It’s a real test to run a half and shouldn’t be underestimated but it’s also an achievable distance and usually finishes just in time for lunch ?

Over the last 3 weeks I’ve been lucky enough to take part in 3 half marathons and I’m delighted to report that all 3 were amazing! You can find my full race reviews on www.racecheck.com but some of them are doing early booking deals now so make sure you check them out and bag a bargain!

Run Reigate

This is the pinnacle for any half marathon – Kelly Holmes and Susie Chan commentating, an awesome event village, closed roads course and quite attractive scenery. This race won the Gold Award at the Running Awards and it is very clear why.

Ealing

The slogan for this one is #ealingfeeling and it isn’t just a marketing gimmick – the support is outstanding. It really does give you a lift when the crowd are so active and engaged and I don’t think I’ve been to any half marathon that has so much crowd participation. It starts and finishes in a beautiful park and is easily accessible by Tube.

Lincoln Half Marathon

One of the most beautiful places I’ve run in a long time – the selling point for this race is Lincoln itself which is simply stunning to run around. It’s a high quality and well managed race with a beautiful route, easy access and a cool event village. There is free Erdinger – enough said!
