Grew up in the West Country and Isle of Man, before attending Lancaster University between 1998 and 2001. Travelled and lived around the world for a year, whilst also preparing to embark on a career in teaching. Taught and led in schools for 10 years across the Midlands until 2015 when I returned to the Isle of Man with wife and 4 kids. Here I’ve been a School Improvement Adviser for the last 5 years. Took up running at 38 and soon realised I was relatively competitive. I run for fun and to compete and I couldn’t advocate anything better than running to preserve mental and physical health and well-being.
