Luke Williams a.k.a Taff
Hello runners, my name is Luke Williams aka Taff, I’m currently serving in the Royal Air Force, and have been for coming up to 18 years. I’ve been running for as long as I can remember and I mainly enjoy trail running. I have ran many different distances from 5K to 100 mile ultra marathons. I’ve always just run for enjoyment and have never competed seriously. I also enjoy obstacle course racing as well as many other muddy outdoor activities.
Last year I challenged myself to run the year, aiming to cover 2020 miles whilst raising money for charity. I ended up beating my goal and did a total of 2063 miles, climbing the height of Everest eight times.
I’m currently training for two ultra marathons in 2021 both over the Brecon Beacons. The first is Black Beacon and is 52 miles, the second is The 100 mile Beacons Way Ultra. I have a place in the London Marathon this year which will be my first ever fully tarmac event. I have recently started MAF training, to try and improve my aerobic fitness to help me with both running in general and my upcoming ultramarathons. I have a YouTube channel called “Taff The Trail Runner”, this is to record all my adventures and to try and inspire other people to get out and enjoy the outdoors.
Hopefully I’ll see you out on the trails somewhere, happy running everyone.
