The organisers of The National Running Show have announced the largest ever Ultra Zone, sponsored by Bad Boy Running, for its 2021 show, with increased capacity stage and world class speaker line-up including Lejog record holder Carla Molinaro and Barkley marathons founder Laz Lake.
2020 saw the introduction of the Ultra Zone at the National Running which proved immensely popular with runners listening to informal and fun chats around a faux fireside. In February 2021 organisers will be increasing the size of the area, to more than double, to keep up with demand and to make sure there will be safe distancing for all visitors.
Hosted by running podcast legends Bad Boy Running, the Ultra stage will cover all aspects of ultra-running, with topics including ‘setting FKTs’ (Fastest Known Time), ‘how to go from a road runner to an ultra-running hero’ and specialist advice from some of the world’s best and most entertaining ultra-runners. So whether you’re intrigued about running your first ultra, looking to improve or love a good story, the ultra-stage is the place to be.
Nathalie Davies, Event Director at National Running Show commented: “We are delighted to be working with Bad Boy Running for the second year running. We were blown away by the popularity of the Ultra Zone at last year’s event and very quickly realised that the interest in Ultra Running was not just from people who currently run ultra-distances but for running enthusiasts across the board. We have doubled the amount of space the Ultra Zone will cover and have a first-class line up of speakers to inspire and motivate visitors. The zone will also host a plethora of ultra-running brands including GB Ultras, Ultra X, Longhaul Endurance and Beyond The Limitations, making it easier to find everything you are looking for.”
David Hellard, one of the founders of the Bad Boy Running Podcast commented: “We can’t wait for next year, the atmosphere was electric and being able to sit down and have a proper chat on stage with our running heroes meant everyone really got to know them. Ultra running has such a vibrant community and the achievements of ultra-runners make for incredible stories, the ultra-stage brings them all together in a ‘best of’ that you just can’t hear anywhere else.”
