The organisers of The National Running Show Birmingham have announced that ASICS will be present at the 2020 event on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th January at Birmingham’s NEC.
Global sport performance brand ASICS promises to be a huge draw for the many thousands of runners coming to the show to make their footwear, apparel and equipment choices for the year ahead.
ASICS will be located within the Intersport Zone, and will be present with their team of experts ready to help runners to find their perfect shoe. Research, commissioned by ASICS, shows that over three-quarters (79%) of runners could be unaware of their running style, and only one third (30%) of UK runners admitted to knowing the difference between a stability and neutral running shoe. ASICS Brand Trainers will be available for personal advice on running style and on which shoe best fits their needs and their own foot type. The Brand Trainers will also be on stage offering tech talks and demonstrating the science behind ASICS footwear. Visitors can look forward to seeing, and trying on, all the latest technology and updates from ASICS across footwear and clothing.
Over the two days ASICS FrontRunners will also join the show. They will be on stage to share inspiring messages and experiences, provide talks on a range of expert topics, and be available on the Ask the Experts area. Come and chat to the ASICS FrontRunners for some first hand experience on using and wearing ASICS.
The National Running Show Birmingham 2020 will benefit from a larger floor space than in previous years, bringing with it increased retail opportunities for those wishing to snap up the latest gear, product launches and limited editions from the top running brands.
There will also be a greater offering of interactive Feature Areas where runners can learn how to improve their running technique, find out more about specialist areas and chat to those in the know. Feature Areas for 2020 include the Running Skills Theatre, The Ultra Zone, Obstacle Course Race, The Trail Zone, 3D Gait Analysis, Steve Cram’s Training Camp, Nutrition Advice Zone, Sweat Test Zone, All Terrain Train, Treadmill Challenge, The Treatment Room and more.
The Speaker Programme for the two days lists an exciting line-up of Olympic athletes, globe-trotting adventurers and ultra running heroes, with stars including Sally Gunnell, Linford Christie, Dean Karnazes, Kriss Akabusi, Jo Pavey, Steve Cram, Susannah Gill, Rhys and Scott Jenkins, Lazarus Lake, Camille Herron, Nicky Spinks, Mimi Anderson and Anna McNuff.
The National Running Show is the UK’s biggest independent running show, offering runners the unique opportunity to try out and purchase the latest products and limited editions from big, well-known brands through to smaller brands not found anywhere else. The Birmingham show expects more than 55,000 visitor ticket registrations for 2020, all of whom will be able to discover the latest kit, tech, nutrition and races from over 250 exhibitors, learn from inspiring speakers and improve their running technique thanks to the hands-on feature areas.
Mike Seaman, CEO of Raccoon Events, commented: “We welcome the return of ASICS to The National Running Show Birmingham 2020 as one of our key brands, and we are incredibly excited about what they have planned for the show. We are committed to offering visitors to the show an extensive choice of products from a range of brands and we can’t wait to see everyone in January.”
David Hanson at ASICS added: “As the leaders in running we want to ensure that all runners run in the right shoe. We are happy to be returning to The National Running Show Birmingham 2020 and look forward to supporting runners to find the right footwear and clothing for their needs, wherever they are on their running journey.”
