Running for almost 20 years. What started as just ticking off one half (GNR 2006) and then one full (London 2007) became a bit of an obsession!
I have been lucky enough to run some great races and raised over £200k for various charities in the time I have been running. I am very passionate about running for good causes, for mental well being, for physical well being and also to push myself. I also got christened Usingh Bolt in 2011 which is a name I have used ever since for running.
I have done a number of running challenges in the last 10 years in particular. 31 marathons in 31 days in July 2021, 4602 miles in 2023 and 50 x 50K runs leading upto my 50th birthday in 2025. Although I have sworn off doing any challenges like this again I am still looking at getting to 100 marathons (currently on 70) before I turn 60 and to tick off the marathon majors - currently on 4.
I have always been a fan of the NRS. I remember attending the first one and sitting down and listening to Sean Conway talk about giving up work to attempt JOGLE. Something I attempted in 2019 but had to abandon after getting a bad injury on day 10!
I was also inspired by Jessica Robson to create a Run Talk Run group in Walsall as I found her talk so inspiring. I've also linked up with brands that have been at the NRS e.g. Protein Rebel, SImply Seedz and find it a brilliant event that I am lucky enough to have attended every year.
I have got into pacing in the last few years, especially half marathons as I find it important to help other runners achieve their targets and goals.
