Carl is a former soldier and Army officer who found long distance running late in life. Since his first marathon in September 2019, he has now run 3 ultras and over 30 marathons including 10 in 10 days dressed as a giant breast for Breast Cancer UK.
For 2022 he is currently running 26 marathons in 26 different ways including – backwards, carrying an egg and spoon, with bean bag on his head, in various fancy dress, blindfolded, carrying a bike for an official world record attempt and more! All of these are for the Charity Marathon Kids UK, in an attempt to introduce more people to the sport of running, the inclusivity around the running community and the links between physical and mental wellbeing.
A passionate fundraiser and keen mental health advocate, Carl has spoken a number of times on this topic at our event and will be doing so at this year’s RunFestRun too. Always up for a challenge to raise money and awareness for worthy causes. He recently was part of a Guinness world record breaking team for most Chest to floor burpees in 12 hours (to have a break from the running!)
Finally, Carl is the host of ‘Carl’s Instaviews’ which feature many of the Olympians and sportsmen/women that have been and continue to be NRS speakers and supporters. They can be found on his IGTV Channel or Podcast.
