Carl Orme

A regular speaker at our events, Carl is a former British army soldier and officer who has been involved in and around mental health causes for over a decade. An accomplished speaker, having been invited to present at a variety of exhibitions, company events, numerous radio shows and podcasts; not only using these public and media platforms to reach thousands of people to share his own experiences, but, within the last few years he has interviewed and worked with over 50 elite sportsmen/women, from multiple Olympians & global medallists to world boxing champions and celebrities, discussing their story and helping them to inspire others. He regularly works with individuals on a one-to-one basis, to provide advice, signposting, and support. Knowing from personal experience how difficult and lonely it can be when battling with your mental fitness.

Not one to shy away from a challenge, he ran his first marathon in September 2019 then went on to run 20 marathons in 2020, including 10 in 10 days in 10 counties dressed as a giant breast for Breast Cancer UK and climbed Everest on his stairs in 4 days that year too! October 2021 he was one of a 6-person mixed team who broke the Guinness World record for most chest to floor burpees in 12 hrs. To date has currently run 2 Ultras and 43 marathons including a number in varying states of fancy dress, carrying weights, on a 3m balcony on holiday and with a variety of props that did little to help the running!

Since leaving the forces he has supported a number of charitable organisations and causes, individually raising a significant amount on money. He is currently training to run the Heb Way in September, which is a self-managed 156 mile run from South – North across the Islands of the Hebrides, which he will be doing dressed in his boob outfit for Breast Cancer, to try and hit his £20K target (link in his Instagram) @fighting_the_dadbod.

When not breaking his body, he is currently writing a book on mental health with a number of celebrities contributors, to raise money and awareness for mental health charities.
