I’m Kerry and I’m from Cardiff. I work as a specialist nurse, I love animals – especially dogs, I love being outdoors, adventures, travelling and I’m an enthusiastic runner, although a very average one.
If I can encourage or persuade anyone to lace up their trainers and run, I jump at the chance.
Running has been a positive catalyst for change in my life. I was a fairly inactive child and had little interest in exercise. I started running in 2001, when I qualified as a nurse and have never looked back since. Over time, the natural progression of my running developed from 5ks up to ultra-marathons and my favourite distances are half and full marathons. Up until now I’ve run 8 marathons and I intend to run many more.
Running has taught me what my body is capable of and to believe in myself more, this in turn has empowered me to share my journey with others. I’m passionate about promoting the benefits of running for health, particularly mental health. I’ve connected with so many other inspiring runners through racing/social running events, parkrun, whilst wearing a pacing flag, run leading and at running expos like the National Running Show.
I have a personal running account on Instagram @kerryrobboruns and I help run the @instarunnerswales account too. I have found that social media has given me so much inspiration. I’m a strong believer in that if you want to inspire others, you have to feel it yourself first. Inspiring others in turn motivates me.
I’m really looking forward to meeting you at the next expo!
