With two World Championship medals and a European gold already to his name, there is no doubt that Rio Mitcham is a rising star of British 400m sprinting. Starting in the sport as an under-13 athlete, Rio has moved up throughout the distances, beginning with 100m before jumping up to 200m and finally 400m in 2021. A British medallist in his own right, Rio boasts a personal best of 45.60 and is a solid part of the British 400m relay squads.
