Sally Orange

A multiple Guinness world record holder and Invictus Games medallist, Sally Orange is a military veteran who is the only person on the planet to have run a marathon on every continent in fancy dress and more specifically, dressed as different pieces of fruit – a true reflection of her personality, proving she really does have a zest for life!

Inspired by her surname, Sally completed her first marathon dressed as an orange in a bid to show that sport and exercise doesn’t have to be about being the fastest or the fittest. Rather, it is more about having fun, making others smile, and raising money and awareness for charity.  She doesn’t go for times; instead, she goes for the time of her life.

Despite facing a lifetime of adversity through challenges with her mental health, service on the front line in Afghanistan, and coming from humble beginnings, Sally inspires all those that cross her path with her positive “can do” attitude.

She has a colorful running portfolio, having run over 50 marathons (mostly all dressed as different pieces of fruit) and completing some of the world’s toughest endurance challenges for charitable causes to help others how are less fortunate.  These include a 100km run across the Gobi desert in Mongolia, the Yukon Arctic marathon as well as the infamous Marathon Des Sables.

Sally has developed a unique and creative way of combining her own vulnerabilities with compassion, humility, and fun, in a bid to inspire other to achieve their own goals whatever they may be. Such philosophy has seen her recently appointed as the United Kingdom’s first female ambassador for the Army Cadet Force, a role she takes great pride in.
