With over 16 years of experience in sport development, Halima has worked across both grassroots and strategic levels. Her career spans a range of organisations including Sporting Equals, the Rugby Football League, Yorkshire Sport Foundation, Bradford Council Sports Development, Badminton England, and StreetGames, bringing a wealth of expertise in community engagement and inclusion.
Internationally, Halima has contributed as a strategic advisor to Bermuda Cricket, supporting the development of their women and girls’ programme. She is also the Founder and Director of Opening Boundaries, a not-for-profit organisation that promotes sport as a platform for advancing gender equality and peace globally.
Halima brings significant governance experience, having served as a Non-Executive Director for Triathlon England, where she led on diversity and inclusion. Her additional board roles include Trustee for North Yorkshire Sport and member of the West Yorkshire Combined Authority Culture, Heritage and Sport Committee.
