Pilates for Runners was born out of a calf injury Liz ignored for so long that it ended up as excruciating sciatica. She'd been chasing a faster time, altered her running form to get there, and ran through the problems that abrupt change threw up. Calf pain, then hip pain, then sciatica, before she decided a new approach was needed.
Adapting her Pilates to support her running was what got her out of it, and what she's been teaching runners ever since.
What began as Facebook Lives in lockdown has grown into a membership that's supported over 2,500 runners in five years. Runners juggling training with careers, families, and a body that no longer bounces back the way it used to. Runners frightened of losing the one thing that keeps them sane.
Liz teaches Pilates and strength workouts, giving runners the capacity, load tolerance and movement they need to enjoy running in later life without ending up moving like the tin man between runs. She teaches them to know their own body well enough to catch the small stuff before it turns into the big stuff.
