The aim of 12in12 is to be all inclusive and get everyone involved one way or another to help them become active and stay motivated, rather than just training or volunteering for one event and stopping after. It doesn’t matter what anyone’s ability is everyone can join in. You can walk, jog, run or volunteer at your chosen events. Volunteers are as equally important as event participants and it also gives anyone with an injury reason to stay involved by volunteering. The events need to be over a set distance and timed, they can be virtual and a 12in12’er can record their own event if they are unable to get to an organised event. We are trying to make it as flexible as possible to fit into any life. We have two qualified coaches and an active online community which is growing. Through the coaches and community we aim to give support and encouragement that will hopefully keep people on board to start a second 12in12 when they’ve completed their first, they can then also see improvements in their ability by looking back at their recorded achievements.

The ASICS Greater Manchester Marathon in Trafford on the same super fast course that is the flattest marathon course in the UK and one of the flattest in the world.
For 2018, the race village will be at Emirates Old Trafford, the home of Lancashire Cricket Club and will be sited on the car park in front of the stadium. You will start the race just a short walk away on the A56 White City Roundabout and finish on Talbot Road outside Emirates Old Trafford. The venue change is in line with our growth plans for the event and now allows us to have an 8m wide finish giving you a spectacular finale to your great day.

The 7th Ealing Half Marathon takes place on Sunday 30th September 2018 and is well known for its huge community support and great atmosphere, with runners travelling from all over the UK and abroad to experience the #EalingFeeling.

LightupU is a range of products inspired by David Andrews who was hit by a passing car whilst out running at night. Although he was wearing hi visibility clothing the car didn’t see him and simply drove away, leaving the wing mirror ripped off by the force of the impact. David was left hanging trapped and unconscious in a low growing tree at the side of a country road.
David did make a full recovery thanks to a passing motorist who witnessed the incident and the dedication of the emergency services.
Once he was back running again he decided to source, develop and market a range of illuminated wearable products which provide a strong visual awareness for anyone exercising during the hours of darkness.

POW! are an online virtual events organisation based in South Wales, specialising in organising and promoting “virtual” runs which attract a huge gathering of runners from across the country. For an entry fee, runners can “enter” a race, download a number, and run the specified distance at a time or venue of their choice. After submitting proof of the run, the participants are sent one of a unique collection of retro, geeky, or pop culture medals!
There is an added bonus to running a POW! race – 20% of the entry fee gets donated to a charity chosen for that particular event, meaning runners get fit, donate to charity, and get a wonderfully-unique medal each time!

Unilite are a manufacturer of rugged lighting equipment with a variety of applications, ranging from headbands and woolly hats for running on dark mornings, to freestanding rechargeable lighting units. Vegan Runners UK (VRUK) was launched at the London Vegan Festival on 4 July 2004 for vegans of all running abilities to raise awareness of veganism throughout the UK and to provide a focus for current vegans with an interest in running. A separate organisation, the Vegetarian Cycling & Athletic Club founded in 1888, was the only choice for vegan runners prior to the formation of VRUK, vegetarian runners are encouraged to join the VC&AC, for information visit Vegetarian C&AC.

Vibram was founded by Vitale Bramani in 1937 when he developed the first ever rubber climbing boot sole and the iconic “Carrarmato” grip pattern.
67 years later in 2004 his grandson, Marco Bramani, started production of Vibram FiveFingers which he developed with designer, inventor and barefoot enthusiast Robert Flirie. Flirie was determined to develop a shoe that felt quite simply like a glove, he said at the time:
“We have five toes; when they can move and grasp the ground independently, and when you can really sense the surface under your feet, your body is able to do what it is designed for by nature. That is a powerful feeling.”
From those early beginnings the range has evolved into a highly technical selection of styles specifically designed to deliver high levels of performance across a range of speciality sports and training – though always preserving the “barefoot feel”.

Instead of signing up for your traditional race and travelling to a certain place and time to run, you can instead sign up for any number of the ‘virtual’ races and run when it’s convenient with you.
