25–26 Jan 2025 220 days to go! #RunShow

Famous faces help raise over £18,000 for charity but it’s not over yet and we need your help!

The Indoor Relay, a 24-7 running relay raising money for charity, has smashed its £10k target raising over £18,000 so far thanks to over 250 runners including Louise Minchin, Suzi Shaw, Jo Pavey, Mimi Anderson and Susie Chan.

The relay will continue until the UK schools return but more runners are needed to make this possible. Volunteers can walk or run the one-hour leg within the boundary of their home. The team has so far covered over 1500 miles around their sofa, balcony, garden or driveway with all monies raised split equally between NHS Charities Together, NSPCC, Mind, Children with Cancer UK and Women’s Aid.

Since it started on 2 May, the event, started by Mike Seaman, CEO of the National Running Show and a group of avid runners, has seen over 250 runners taking on an hour’s leg of the relay often taking on challenges while walking and running to encouraging viewers to make a donation to help fund the shortfall that charities are facing due to the cancellation of mass participation running events.

Mike Seaman, founder of Indoor Relay and CEO of Raccoon Events, commented: “When we started the Indoor Relay we really hoped to be able to raise £10k and have been completely blown away by the support from the running community. With the return to school in sight we are working hard to try and smash the £20,000 mark. We have had so much fun and learned so much chatting to people as they take on their leg, people have really got into the spirit dressing up and taking on even more challenges during their stint to get more donations in. If we are going to reach our next target we need more runners to get involved – it’s just one hour of your time and I know you will have some fun whilst doing your bit for some incredible charities.”
