The National Running Show has today launched its Community Grant Scheme for 2025, continuing its commitment to support grassroots running in the UK. The scheme, first launched in 2020, is designed to give financial assistance to community running groups to help them combat the barriers to active participation in running at local level.
The National Running Show was established in 2018 by Raccoon Media Group and has since incrementally grown into an award-winning consumer event, the largest running community meet-up in the UK. It attracts over 30,000 running enthusiasts annually and consistently features athletes, Olympians, celebrities, community leaders and more as guest speakers. The National Running Show in 2026 will take place from 31st January to 1st February at N.E.C. Birmingham.
Groups across the UK are now encouraged to apply for The National Running Show community grant. The criteria being groups that encourage inactive people to become more active, to promote and support lasting sporting habits and help develop positive attitudes towards running amongst young people.
Commenting on the community grant scheme Craig Hanratty, Event Director for The National Running Show said: “Local clubs are the foundation of running and rely on support to make a difference in their communities. Encouraging physical activity improves cardiovascular health, reduces stress and boosts mental wellness. Further to that, we know that grassroots running groups can foster social inclusion, develop future talent and help cultivate a lifelong love for the sport. Raccoon Media Group is a purpose driven business. With the community grant from The National Running Show we aim to give back to communities and help at a local level in the UK”.
Applications are now open for the community grant. The deadline to apply is the 30th November 2025. Shortlisted entrants will be notified by the 19th December 2025 and the winners will be announced at The National Running Show in 2026.
