Ireland’s Emma Stuart is currently Britain’s top ultra-distance athlete, with wins at the Arc of Attrition 100, Ultra-Trail Snowdonia 100 and Lakeland 100. The Lake District-based vet is proving an equal success internationally, with a win at Italy’s notorious 350k Tor des Géants and she represented her country at the European Mountain Running Championships. Incredibly Emma has only been running for six years. “Having not been a sporty child,” she says, “the only running I did was to catch a bus.”
