Launch of The National Running Show London in June 2020

Raccoon Events, the organisers of the award-winning National Running Show in Birmingham, have launched The National Running Show London.

The National Running Show London will take place at the Business Design Centre in Islington on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th June 2020.

The launch was celebrated with a privately-hosted event on 26th June, at the Business Design Centre. It was a fitting celebration to mark the arrival of The National Running Show in London, following two highly successful years of The National Running Show at Birmingham’s NEC in January 2018 and 2019.

In line with the company’s Sustainability Policy, the attendees’ travel to and from the launch was offset using the Travel Carbon Calculator.

The expansion to the UK’s capital city comes as a result of demand in the south-east whilst also providing a fresh summer date to complement the new year event in Birmingham.

Just like its sister event, The National Running Show London will enable runners of all levels to discover the latest kit, tech, nutrition and races from over 200 exhibitors, learn from an inspiring line-up of speakers and improve their running technique thanks to the many interactive feature areas under one roof. Thousands of runners, sports brands, retailers, nutrition experts, race organisers and communities will be brought together for this weekend-long celebration of running and it promises to be fantastic motivation for those planning autumn races and looking ahead to 2021.

Brands already secured for the event next June include 2XU, Altra, AW, Ealing Half Marathon, FCN, Flapjackery, Gu, Hilly, Intersport, LightupU, London Relay, Mysports & More, Nakedrunner, Rawvelo, Ronhill, Run Mummy Run, Runderwear, Running Forum, Scimitar, Sports Insight, Up & Running, Vibram, White Star Running, Women’s Running and YAMAtune.

The National Running Show London will also welcome a first-class line-up of speakers who will be sharing their anecdotes, wisdom and tips with a packed audience. Dame Kelly Holmes will be both speaking at and opening the show. Other speakers over the two days include Olympic 400m athlete Roger Black MBE and presenter Nell McAndrew, whilst endurance runner Susie Chan and adventurer Danny Bent will be co-hosting.

Of particular excitement for the inaugural event in the capital is the announcement of special new Feature Areas. These include the screening of favourite running films plus healthy popcorn in The Running Cinema, free workshops on mindfulness and yoga in The Retreat, the chance to try out the latest kit on the neon track in Run The Dark and a Community Bar dedicated to community meet-ups. The feature areas are a fantastic chance for visitors to find out more about specialist areas of interest, chat to those in the know and try out all kinds of kit and equipment.

Many more brands, exhibitors, sponsors and speakers are due to be announced for The National Running Show London and tickets are on sale now.

Mike Seaman, Director of Raccoon Events, commented:We are incredibly excited to launch The National Running Show London at the Business Design Centre in June 2020. London has a great history of running and we have already received huge support within the industry to host this mid-year event in the capital. We are looking forward to welcoming runners of all abilities to the show next summer, to help them achieve their goals wherever they are on their running journey. Visitors to the show can look forward to all that we have offered at the Birmingham event and more, and it will be superb incentive for all those planning their running for the upcoming autumn and following spring.”
