Kevin Kiptum smashed the men’s marathon world record on October 8, 2023, at the Chicago Marathon, blazing through at a mind-boggling pace of 13.046 mph.  Ruth Chepngetich dominated the women’s marathon, setting her incredible world record on October 13, 2024, also in Chicago, at a blistering pace of 12.107 mph.
