Running 50 yards was a challenge 3 years ago. I would often drive past runners and think….why can’t I run, why can’t I do this?
Determined in my journey to succeed and cover 5k, my wife, 10 year old daughter and I started the couch to 5k. My daughter participating in cross country competitions at school really motivated me. I thought, if she could do it, why couldn’t I?
Focused on challenging and conquering the mind we completed the 5k challenge and this was the beginning of me becoming a runner. My weekly miles started at 5 and gradually increased.
COME what MAY, I would run daily and felt the benefits instantly.
The sense of achievement I get from challenging the mind and pushing myself beyond limits is a feeling that is unexplainable. It’s truly a feeling that I just can’t get enough of.
Having built up my endurance levels, I’ve ran half marathons, marathons and working tow ards ultras I plan to run MOAB 240 which is in my 5 year plan amongst other runs.
Running has become a way of life and I wish to help others discover the same passion.
