25–26 Jan 2025 282 days to go! #RunShow

Sarah Hart

Hello! I’m Sarah – a 30-year-old runner currently living in London. After years of chronic knee pain doing its best to put the brakes on my running through my early 20s (and making my first marathon experience in 2017 a pretty challenging one) – January 2020 saw me come through the other side and I’ve been loving every mile ever since!

I’ve run various 5ks, 10ks and half marathons and London Marathon will be my 2nd full marathon to date (when it’s able to take place!)

For me, running fills me with motivation and adventure – it takes me on new paths around the globe, it challenges me to work harder and encourages me to better myself. It offers a release, an opportunity to soak up natural beauty and switch off from everything around me – plus it helps me feel fit and healthy on the daily!

This year I discovered the ‘running community’ – the virtual support network I found on social media, alongside the fellow park/road runners who share a sympathetic smile or even congratulate you when it’s clear you’re running at a tough effort! This is one side of the sport I cannot wait to further immerse myself in, connecting with more likeminded runners, just like me.

I’ve set myself some pretty punchy goals for the next 6-12 months, but cannot wait to fully dive in and see what’s possible. Running is now a huge part of my life and being able to race around the track pain-free is somewhere I didn’t envisage I’d ever get to! I know there will be incredible highs, inevitable lows and continual mental challenges…but that’s the sport of running. It’s definitely about enjoying the full process, not making comparisons and congratulating yourself on every achievement, tough session or PB – however big or small.
